Hello! And welcome once again to The Magdala Mother, an online monastery and educational resource that exists to equip women in owning their spiritual and creative power in all walks of their lives through a commitment to live in a more monastic way. A way that is steeped in silence and solitude alongside the daily demands and logistics of being a human, a woman, and a mother. A commitment to silence and solitude in this day and age as a woman and Mother is an act of resistance. It is a holy prophetic act. And it is the core practice, the only “rule” here at The Magdala Mother.
The Magdala Mother is not connected to any official institution or nonprofit. We do not uphold any specific religious doctrines or creeds. Our only “requirement” is a commitment to the practice of silence and solitude and a devotion to living fully into your one “wild and precious life.” We believe these practices put us in the current of deep time, the kind of time that operates outside of linear life and will locate us within the interconnected web of the here and now life and also the life across the veil. We join hands with our ancestors, the great cloud of witnesses that have gone before us, and believe they speak and guide us still, as women, as mothers.

It is a once a month email designed to provide nourishment to your soul as a seeker, a woman, and as a mother. Once you sign up you will also receive a free welcome gift which is a series of short videos and reflections on women who have built their lives around living from the vertical axis, i.e. all around their pursuit of following God, the Divine, Love itself rather than the traditional maps of culture and religion. They are the “mapless mothers”-the one’s who dropped all the cultural and religious maps and followed their inner knowing as best they knew how: Mother prophets. Mother mystics. Mother knowers and seers of the Divine.
